Hello dear readers! I wish I was sharing this in better circumstances than from a hospital bedroom. Although Little Miss Z's confinement is about to end (yay!!), it still saddens me that it had to happen (insert mom guilt here) at all. So many things we learned here at the hospital and we're so grateful for our team of doctors and nursing staff for being with us every step of the way. :)

So to keep things light - because I'm still having an "internal" debate whether or not I should share our entire experience, I'll just share something that makes me happy here *DRUM ROLLS PLEASE * tadaaahhh!! It's my hospital vanity goods!
Let me make myself clear, these are not items FROM the hospital, but rather, my personal effects that I brought with me to provide relief where needed.
Okay, let's talk about the first image. On a regular day, and with the humidity in the Philippines, you can say that I'm not really a lotion person. I don't even moisturize in the day and often just skip to putting on my sunblock. But you know how most hospitals are..super cold and dry air. Arghh..so it's great that my order of Young Living Lavender lotion came in by January and it's what I brought with me to the hospital. I believe this variant is for normal skin types and I just love how rich it feels but still goes on thin. Haha, is that confusing enough? Must be the essential oils it is infused with. This is something that I see myself finishing till the last dollop. I love how it's lightly scented too! Very far from my old favorite (Bath & Bodyworks) that has a very powerful smell.
For my face I brought Clinique's dramatically different moisturizer. My skin type is actually combination of normal-oily but I'm using this because (1) it's from my mom (2) it's travel size. I'm forever challenged in the department of packing lightly and it's a blessing enough that I have a husband who loves me despite of, and tolerates this part of me; so when I do have the chance to minimize somewhere, I take it! Hahaha :p He might not find this amusing anymore when we get older, so I'm "training" myself now LOL!
Finally we have Young Living's Rose Ointment. This piqued my curiosity because Rose essential oils are generally one of the most expensive. Did you know that it would take tons of rose petals in order to distill an ounce of its essential oil? That's why a 5 mL Rose EO usually would be in the field of $200-300. Wow! Truly, I kid you not! So my friends, this is probably the closest I could get a hold of the Rose EO :)
The Rose Ointment can be used for general skin-soothing needs but personally, I use it as a lip balm. My husband really hates the smell of the Carmex lip balm so much so that he voiced it out to me. I've been using this rose ointment since December and so far, no complaints from him! This comes with a light rose aroma, nothing too powerful or synthetic smelling. I use this too when I have dry skin patches.

And of course, I usually am not without my Young Living diffuser and essential oil bottles. I was scared to bring this out & use it by the bedside because what would hospital staff say? Would they ask me to pack it away? Fortunately this was a non-issue for them. Thank goodness! So for 3 days now I'm diffusing, diffusing, diffusing. This is good for dry air because it's a diffuser and humidifier in 1, with the added aromatherapy benefits of the essential oils. Of course, I have to be mindful not to diffuse strong oils (like Oregano) so I only diffuse the following
-Purification: after meals so that the food odor will be gone
-Gentle Baby + Thieves: Gentle Baby is very soothing and personally, I think this is the most appropriate oil in a pediatric room and because we are dealing with a viral thing, I add in some drops of Thieves .
So that's it! Now wrapping up this post it seems it's not for vanity at all! :)
