So...it just occurred to me that I haven't blogged about this happy Feb-ibig month! Oh dear, my "single" self would not have approved! Haha! Well I would've told her anyway that things do change once you get married and have a kid of your own!
And so this is how our happy heart's month went by. Not a date set in place - which is honestly okay, since hubby and I were both swamped with work! Yet regardless this seeming "lack of romance", oh this year's Valentine's is just something to remember :)
First we celebrated the night before Vday by ordering in from Pancake House, one of my fave restos! While I couldn't decide between the different house specials, my hubby just had his eyes on this fish lumpia set. I, on the other hand, finally decided to get the 2-piece Pan Chicken set with bread and salad on the side. All of these were just sooo yummy!! I especially loved the generous servings, the gravy flavor and the surprise kick in the salsa!

Here we are enjoying our pre-Vday dinner at home..and looking back, I couldn't quite remember how or if we did celebrate last year!!
On the day I was pleasantly surprised - not with flowers - but with two very nice tokens. While having our breakfast, two very important packages arrived just minutes from each other. First, the CD's containing Z's first birthday photos - oh what joy! :) We were not expecting them at all to be delivered this month so it's a major thing for this mommy...thank you so much Happy Folks Studio!
Official birthday photos! Yeah!! |
The next package that arrived was my online purchase from Elin. My hubby was suspicious because of the smug smile on my face that I couldn't conceal! Haha...eh alam na niya ang ibig sabihin niyan :) I eventually had to let him know what the paperbag contained - honesty is the best policy, right?
To justify, we are still breastfeeding and I need a few pieces to update my working wardrobe. Besides, I just love their nursing wear - simple, fashionable and discreet at the same time!
I was happy as a bee and I spent the morning watching the Radio Romance Vday flick. Haha, I just found out that they shot some school scenes at DLSU! Wow!!
Well flowers still came! But the runner did not understand A's instructions so he bought 3 dozens as is. We decided we should gift it to our female relatives instead and we did some DIY arrangements using parchment paper, ribbons and lovey-dovey stamps :)
Before we went to my parents' place, we delivered these pretty flowers to their equally beautiful recipients.
That night we invited my parents over for a double date with Z :) I'll be sharing with you our experience over at Agico Vegetarian Cafe in another blog post so watch out for that ;)

We capped off the celebration with another yummy and nice family lunch at Hai Shin Lou at The Makati Place's City Club...oooohhh, this is another nice place I'll be sharing through my next blog post.

All in all, my heart is just too happy for how our Valentine's went by. Pancake House pa lang masaya na ako but Agico and Hai Shin Lou? Totally unexpected, maybe haphazardly planned but these are experiences and memories that truly give me joy.
Such a contrast from how we celebrated Vday when we were still bf-gf. Before the plan was usually "magpakalayo-layo" sa family, mala you and me against the world lang ang drama. Hence we'd flock to malls and busy restos which are filled to the brim with couple looking through rose-colored glasses. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, but it's just something that doesn't appeal to the "mommy me" at the moment. Now that I'm a mom, I'm partial to spend special days with the whole family. "Now it's us, now it's we". Things really do change..and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Looking forward to more Vday celebratations with the whole gang! :) How about you, how did you spend your Vday this year? :)
xoxo
