Christmas is usually a time when people's feelings toward going out and eating can be polarized. At one end we have "nomnomnomnom hmmm good food!!" *grunt, snort, grunt, rub belly* and on the other "gaaah!! I need to watch my figure! bilbil here, bilbil there, bilbil all the way (sung to the tune of Jingle Bells)"

Chef Jessie's 100 Revolving Restaurant -- relax, only the carpeted area (and not the whole floor) revolves :) |

But for preggy mommas, 'tis the most wonderful time of the year - indeed! :) You get to enjoy the sights and twinkling delights, share presents, get fed with festive dishes (for two please!) and best of all catch up with friends and update them with your belly business before you pop.
So this Christmas get together with my Urban broker friends, Rowie suggested we go and try the Revolving Restaurant in Libis. And silly me just thought, "wow, hindi ba sila nalulugi with all that power needed to make that penthouse floor spin?" bwahahahahaha :) As I shared that with my husband, he just returned a deadpan look and probably muttered to himself, "Okaaa-aaay....hindi ba naisip nito ang elevators, wirings and poste, etc etc how would it operate if the top floor was really revolving??" --> things that a typical architect would consider. I guess honey, you just married someone with a REALLY imaginative mind! :)

The lover, the dreamer and WE! hehe :) |
Chef Jessie's 100 Revolving Restaurant is located at the Mercury Drug Corporate (MDC) building, situated before you enter the Eastwood area. It features a 360 view of the Metro specifically QC, Ortigas and C5 and if you happen to be here on afternoons, you could probably also spy the mountain ranges of Marikina, Rizal and Antipolo.
Anyway, we almost were not able to join the group because of a) preggy fatigue, b) hubby still had to take care of some business at night, AND c) gut and appetite-crushing holiday traffic. Buti na lang Rowie was so persistent to have everyone come :) So after hubby finished his work, we fixed up a little and headed to Libis and arrived there in 45 minutes (while earlier in the afternoon, Rowie and Jecelle had braved the traffic for 3 hours!!)

Here are the rest of the pictures and because we came late and had dinner at home, we only ordered California Maki, pizza and drinks. All were superb as should be expected :)

P.S. For those who are prone to it, the floor's movement could actually make you feel nauseous. Preggy mommies, make sure to take the proper precaution -- you could probably request for a table in the center area (the one that doesn't move)
P.P.S. You can get lost...a little! If you ever step out of your table for a few minutes, you might find your table a few meters away from your "original" spot. Since they say it takes a full 2 hours to complete a revolution, it could be a great learning opportunity for kids (and kids at heart) to practice their problem-solving skills -- or practice your tracking skills actually going round the area looking for your companions! :)
