E's Baptism Day at Hearts of Jesus & Mary Parish

Eeeeep....I know, I know, this is almost 4 months late..gaaahh!! With 2 kids, I just don't know where the time goes..really!

Here are a few shots from Mr. E's baptism at the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Parish, more popularly known as Twin Hearts. Thank you so much to E's godparents, as well as our friends and relatives who dedicated their time for this special event.

Oh, and if you read through the end, you'll see the Youtube video I made of all the other pictures :)

AND if I find the time (I really hope I would), I'd love to share with you the DIY baptism candles I made for E :)

Going on a roadtrip

Hi everyone! Literally just a few hours away from our roadtrip and I haven't really finished packing. Gaaaahhh!!! Stress Drilon, in local beki parlance :)

So instead of finishing early, I decided to head out first to get some things..things we won't actually use for the road trip.

You see, this one other thing that stresses me the most are rats in our abode, would you believe? This started when I began to see rat droppings or feces early last week. I have a baby and a toddler on my hands and no helper at the moment (or even pansamantagal) so our place isn't exactly spic and span...but never did I see droppings like this before, even in the kids' play room. I started to investigate and I found a half nibbled Fox's candy behind the organ/keyboard. Aha! Must be from when Miss Z was playing with candies and that lone menthol probably got stuck behind the toys.

Okay, back to our mall run. This is the reason I just had to go even if I'm not yet done packing. I HAD TO get canisters for snacks, candies and whatnot since we'll be away for a while. I would seriously dread to see an infestation around here huhuhu..don't hurt us, Master Splinter haha..

Yup, been googling rats for how many nights in a row. I guess that covers barring access to their food source. The other thing they said that would ward of mice is peppermint. Well lucky me, I still have a water-based diffuser and got a Peppermint oil/solution (?) from Mia Maison. Hope this really works. Plus points for the fresh scent! :)

Of course, I took the opportunity to get some items from the grocery. I'll do an unboxing and probably a review video when I come back but let me just say how excited I am about my new kitchen best friend - the Zojirushi fuzzy logic rice cooker. It is expensive but I know it'll be worth it! Hahaha :) Please watch out for that. Syempre, I also bought brown rice and black rice which I will try with my new rice cooker since I haven't really gotten the hang of cooking them in the pot. There's something wrong I suppose with how I did it before. We'll see if it'll turn out tastier and fluffier. Besides, it's one way of us trying to get healthy, kids included of course.

Back to NOW -- Once the little baby unlatches, I can finally pack. I don't like mice but I'm a pack rat, for sure! LOL! :)

Please pray for us and the safety & success of our trip! :)

Hahaha "Kilay is life"..my first time at Brow Lab. And Mr. E is wondering what's being done to his mom

Our first time at the Red Table. A Korean resto..quite good but we've only sampled a few. Bibimbap (love it forever) and Kalbi Gui.

Oh, I've just uploaded Vlog #1 on Youtube. Hope you can watch it :)

Morning snacks with Miss Z

Hi again! I'm really only posting this because it's a first for us 😬 Our sleep schedule has been out of whack and only recently have we decided to finally be serious about making and following through on a sleep routine. Still only on Day 2 and I'm truly scared we'll slip back to old habits. I mean, it been our normal for the longest time.

But there is really a good thing to this change we're trying to achieve. In the past, 9.30 am is just getting ready to get out of bed and have breakfast...now it's my toddler asking for her morning merienda. AND, I happily oblige.

So we shared an orange and an apple with peanut butter. So yummy, feels healthy and I guess this is a good thing to get used to.

Baby steps for now, but I know we'll reach our goal :)

Make brushing more fun with Minions!

ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-nana ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-nana banana-ah-ah potato-na-ah-ah

Aaah, I'm going bananas over this cuteness! I'm sure little Miss Z will surely agree! Well, besides the fact that bananas are a constant in our fruit rotation. Are you ready for this?? Presenting...

Colgate’s Minions toothbrush and Minions toothpaste. If this doesn't make brushing more F-U-N, then I don't know what will. It's just too cheerful a thing and definitely will make kids ask for our "brush-brush time" sooner than they can finish their bananas.

Colgate's got the cool new Minions tooth paste & Minions tooth brush covered..so how else can we up the fun factor while brushing? Here are some ideas to try with your kids:

• Sing a happy brushing song - you know, like Colgate's "brush, brush, brush, three times a day!..." or the Minions' banana song..or golly, we can even make our own! :)

Dance the cavities away! - well, just make sure not to get too carried away :)

Silly story for smiles - yes, brushing is serious business but we can make kids love it more if they know why we need to do it and how to do it properly. What better way to educate than by making a silly story chockfull of information so they'll know & remember.

Try new flavors - basic is good but sometimes it's fun if we have a little something extra. And Colgate's Minions Bubble Fruit flavor seems to be the perfect new flavor to make brushing more fun!

Choose a good brush - Not just good but high in design wow factor too! Again, what could be cuter than Minions? Form & function, surely a winning combination.

These kids got their bananas, Colgate's got the minion toothpaste & toothbrush - we're ready to make brushing a rocking good time! :)

Soon a Ballerina!

A few weeks ago we headed to a "big school" to enroll little Miss Z. Nope, not for preschool but for a baby / toddler ballet class :)

I'm not sure if this is the right activity for her personality & temperament (it doesn't come cheap so let's hope it's right, somehow..hahaha).. but what I do know is that she really needs an outlet for all her energy and this seems to be a pretty good avenue. Who knows where this could lead to, right? Haha, finally she can ask her teacher all the Angelina Ballerina questions she has.

The teaching method is described as follows: "...follows the National Ballet Syllabus endorsed by the National Commission on Culture and the Arts. This syllabus adapts to the needs of Filipino children & also offers great fun for them to dance. It helps develop coordination, fitness, musicality and self-expression."

It's a plus that it's just a few minutes away from where we are residing. So I guess it'll be manageable for a SAHM (no yaya) to get two kids and myself ready at least once a week for this.

Peso Power:
2,000 = regulation uniform
2,500 = Tutu Toddlers monthly fee (for 4x/mo classes)

Yes, they accept 'outsiders' such as Homeschoolers like us! Whee! 💖

Oh Miss Z, I know you are soo ready but I'll let you in on a secret -- mommy is so much more excited for you!

Wish us luck! :D

PS. Thank you so much to Ms Mariel of The Learning Basket for this recommendation :)
