For the longest time, I've wanted to do something special for my dear friend Wannie. We have been inseparable in high school, spending hours after dismissal time waiting for our respective school buses or "sundo" but college proved a bit toxic for our friendship. Yes, we still remained friends but perhaps the lure of new things and new people and (gulp!) the distance between DLSU and CSB made it Taft (tough actually but I just wanted to insert a corny line! hahahaha..) :) Calls, meet-ups and even texts became fewer as time passed because we probably thought to ourselves that we've been friends forever, surely there's always the next moment for us to catch up.
Well, I was so wrong. Consider it my first "friendship heartbreak" when I found out that she and her family had to move to Australia! There goes that chance to bond again..and take note this was during the time of Friendster - no Facebook, Viber or Facetime yet! arrrggghh!!
Anyway, I'm very happy to know that despite being geographically separated for more than a decade post-college, despite being different people now than the girls who roamed the SPCP grounds at least two times in the afternoon, I find that deep inside we're still the hopeless romantics who'll sing and finish each other's sappy love song in a heart beat!
To maximize Wannie's very short 1-week vacation (more like 'aparisyon' haha), I decided to bring her to my husband's Feng Shui Master friend to have her Bazi or Paht-Chee reading done. Bazi reading is very personalized because it is computed based on a person's date and time of birth. Hence if you were born in a Rat year, it doesn't follow that all feng shui Rat forecasts would apply to you. If you have your own Bazi chart, you'll be able to identify which elements are present or lacking, its implications and what you can do about it. Aside from the favorable/unfavorable elements and colors, it would also show you a glimpse into your 4 pillars, supported luck years (in terms of $$$), 8 mansions luck, and the different areas of your life - resources, power, friends, output and wealth. I think I should mention that for the ladies, love will fall under the 'power' category based on Bazi. On a more practical note, this reading helps align you to your natural proclivities in terms of your career or investments (based on your favorable element/s) hence serving as a guide to help you play on your strengths :)
After a quick lunch at home, we headed to Sunrise General Merchandise, located in Salazar St. cor. Ongpin St. in Binondo. We were greeted by Mr. Johnson Chua and his lovely wife, Jacqueline. Bazi reading is a personal matter but Wannie allowed me to listen and chime in (when needed lang naman).
I really enjoy going to this place as I always feast on and get drawn to the different crystals and other feng shui items on display :) Shiny, shiny things they are!! Eyeing what to get next, eh? Oh by the way, if you have your personal Bazi chart, you only need to show it to Johnson when you want to update your feng shui items like crystal bracelets, figurine placements and the like.
After almost an hour of Bazi discussion, consultation and kulitan with Wannie, Andrew, Johnson and Jacqueline, off we went to our next destination. And what is a Binondo mini-tour without sampling the food? Since we didn't have much time, we decided on trusty Wai Ying which fortunately is just a few 'kembot' away from Johnson's shop :)
Here's my hubby busy with Candy Crush while waiting for our dimsum! And when I hear that word somehow I always imagine Veronica Mars saying, "dimsum, and then some??" hahahaha :D
Here's our photo with Ayee before we headed home. And we just gotta use the X-shot monopod to take this "selfie" :)
I really enjoyed this mini-tour and hope to have longer chats with you guys!! Such a perfect surprise and a welcome 2-hour break from nursing my baby. Thanks to my hubby for making this happen! :) See you soon Wannie! We'll always have March....right Ayee? hihihihi :D
